Amazfit Active 3 Premium update adds sharper topo maps and smarter route alerts for outdoor workouts

Amazfit is rolling out a new software update for the Active 3 Premium smartwatch, its recently launched wearable aimed at fitness and outdoor tracking. The release, firmware version 3.10.0.5, follows an earlier post-launch update and is arriving in stages.

The most noticeable changes focus on maps and navigation, with Amazfit tuning how the watch handles route planning during activities.

Users should see quicker turn-by-turn prompts and revised off-route alerts designed to reduce false warnings without missing real deviations.

More detailed maps on the wrist

According to the update notes shared by users, the Active 3 Premium now supports more detailed topographic maps.

Amazfit says contour lines have been refined, a change that can make elevation changes easier to read at a glance.

Navigation improvements matter most when the watch is used away from city streets, where trails and junctions can be less predictable. The update is positioned to make guidance feel more responsive, especially when moving at pace.

Music, podcasts and sleep tweaks

Amazfit is also expanding availability of its Music and Podcasts apps to more countries, based on early reports from users receiving the update. The company has not published a full regional rollout list, but availability appears to be widening beyond initial markets.

Beyond navigation, the firmware also includes a sleep algorithm update, suggesting tweaks to how the watch estimates sleep stages and recovery. As with many wearables, results can vary by user, and improvements typically become clearer after several nights of tracking.

Firmware 3.10.0.5 is being distributed in phases, so some Active 3 Premium owners may need to wait before it appears in their companion app. Amazfit has not provided a precise timeline for when the update will reach all devices.
