Garmin Beta 17.19 lands for Venu 4 and Vivoactive 6: the small fixes that make daily use smoother

Garmin has started rolling out Beta 17.19 to its Venu 4 and Vivoactive 6 smartwatches, continuing the company’s v17.xx development cycle for both mid-range models.

The update focuses on usability refinements and bug fixes that target navigation, timers, workouts and stability.

One of the most noticeable changes addresses a navigation issue that could cause a missing turn arrow when following a course.

Garmin also says Beta 17.19 improves responsiveness when starting a timer, a small tweak that can make the interface feel faster in everyday use.

Navigation, workouts and stability tweaks

Across both watches, Garmin adds support for Approach CT1 club sensors and expands LiveTrack options so it can be enabled automatically by activity type.

The update also fixes problems that affected swim workouts, including a case where send-off time did not vibrate as expected.

Garmin also notes that Beta 17.19 resolves “various issues that could cause the device to reset,” alongside other minor bug fixes. Another adjustment prevents automatic track detection during trail run activities, aiming to reduce incorrect prompts during off-track running.

Extra fixes aimed at Venu 4

Venu 4 receives additional call-related fixes, including a bug that could prevent users from accepting an incoming call on the watch. Garmin also changed how mute behaves so the setting applies only to the current phone call rather than persisting afterward.

For climbers, Beta 17.19 fixes an issue where the back and down keys might not work properly during bouldering and indoor climbing activities. As a beta release, features and fixes may still be adjusted before Garmin moves v17.xx changes into a stable public update.
