Amazfit smartwatches get a free 3D game: Tunnel Runner tests how far Zepp OS graphics can go
Zepp Health has added a new title to its Amazfit app ecosystem with Tunnel Runner, a free game that brings simple 3D graphics to selected Amazfit smartwatches. The release highlights a growing push to make watches feel more like mini app platforms, not just fitness companions.
Tunnel Runner is built as an endless runner where players steer through a moving 3D tunnel and avoid obstacles, aiming to last as long as possible. Controls are primarily handled via the touchscreen, keeping gameplay quick and accessible for short sessions.
A small game with a bigger point
While the experience is not meant to rival mobile games, early impressions suggest performance is reasonably smooth given smartwatch-class hardware. That matters because 3D rendering can be demanding on battery and processors designed mainly for health tracking and notifications.
The game is available in versions tailored to different Amazfit models, including devices such as the Amazfit T-Rex 3. As with many watch apps, compatibility depends on Zepp OS support and the specific hardware capabilities of each watch.
Development is still evolving
Tunnel Runner is described as actively developed, with community feedback shaping potential improvements. Discussions around future control options, including possible gyroscope input, point to experimentation with more natural ways to play on a wearable.
The launch also underscores how the Zepp app store remains broader in 2D titles than in 3D experiences, at least for now. Even so, Tunnel Runner serves as a practical demo of what lightweight 3D gameplay can look like on low-power devices.
