Garmin rolls out Beta 22.27 for Fenix 8 and Enduro 3: 15 fixes target crashes, maps and battery estimates

Garmin is rolling out a new beta update, version 22.27, for several of its high-end smartwatches, including the Fenix 8 series and Enduro 3.

The release follows a recent stable firmware update and focuses on a broad set of reliability and usability improvements.

According to Garmin, beta 22.27 is reaching roughly half of enrolled users so far, meaning some devices may not see it for a few more days. Eligible models include the Fenix 8 Pro and non-Pro variants, plus watches in related families such as Quatix 8 and Tactix 8.

What the beta update changes?

Garmin says the beta cycle from version 22.24 through 22.27 addresses 15 bugs in total, with 6 changes added since beta 22.26. The fixes are aimed largely at preventing crashes and reducing friction in common day-to-day interactions.

Several fixes target stability, including potential crashes when dismissing notifications, during activities, while using LiveTrack, and when updating audio prompt files alongside device software. Garmin also addressed an issue that could prevent the boot animation from playing.

Maps, weather and activity tweaks

On the features side, Garmin lists fixes for battery estimates when switching power modes during activities and for getting stuck in the map activity when using Sight N’ Go.

The update also resolves a weather app refresh problem that could prevent data from updating when entering the app.

Other adjustments include restoring certain button and gesture behaviors when the notification center is disabled, correcting track detection for trail run activities, and addressing spectator messaging alerts. Tactix 8 users also get a specific fix for night vision color shift behavior, alongside updated translations.

Garmin has indicated more beta updates may arrive before the 22.xx firmware line moves to the stable channel. Users who prefer stability over early access can typically wait for the public release, while beta participants can monitor rollout timing and change logs in Garmin’s announcements.
