Samsung Galaxy A57 sees an early price drop: This week’s best phone deals also hit Poco F8 Ultra and Motorola Edge 70
Fresh weekly deals are already cutting deep into new phone prices, led by Samsung’s Galaxy A57, which has picked up an unusually early reduction in several European listings. The move brings the higher-storage 8 GB/256 GB model into direct competition with cheaper mid-range rivals.
With the A57 discounted to around €430 in Germany, it lands at a price point normally reserved for older models or lower tiers. That is notable because early cuts often signal aggressive channel promotions rather than a broad price reset.
Galaxy A57 vs A37: Why it matters?
The Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37 share a 5 000 mAh battery and 45 W charging, but the A57 is positioned as the more premium option. It pairs a slimmer metal build with lower weight, and it upgrades performance with a newer Exynos 1680 chipset over the A37’s Exynos 1480.
Samsung’s software policy is also a major factor in the value equation, with the phones launching on One UI 8.5 based on Android 16 and advertised for 6 major OS updates. For buyers holding onto devices longer, that support window can outweigh smaller camera or design differences.
Poco and Motorola target performance hunters
Xiaomi’s Poco F8 Pro is also on sale, appealing to buyers who prioritize raw speed and battery life. It uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite and adds a dedicated telephoto camera, alongside a 6 210 mAh battery and 100 W wired charging.
For shoppers willing to spend more, the Poco F8 Ultra steps up to a newer Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform, a larger display, and a bigger 6 500 mAh battery with wireless charging. Camera hardware is also strengthened with higher-end sensors and longer zoom reach than the F8 Pro.
Motorola’s discounts lean into design, with the Edge 70 positioned as a slim, lightweight alternative at a reduced price. The trade-offs include a smaller 4 800 mAh battery than flagship peers and a camera setup that skips a dedicated telephoto lens, focusing instead on main and ultra-wide modules.
