Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 14 lands in the US: a sub-1 kg business laptop with 120 Hz OLED and haptic trackpad
Lenovo has begun selling the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 14 Aura Edition in the US, expanding availability after earlier launches in other regions.
The 14-inch business laptop targets premium buyers with a major chassis redesign and Intel Core Ultra options.
The new model keeps the X1 Carbon’s lightweight focus, with Lenovo listing configurations that can come in under 1 kg. That low weight, paired with enterprise features like vPro on select chips, is aimed at frequent travelers and corporate fleets.
A modular redesign with more headroom
For Gen 14, Lenovo rebuilt the platform around a magnesium mid-frame designed to support a modular keyboard. The company also says the updated design can deliver roughly a third more power to the processor than the prior generation.
Battery capacity is listed at 58 Wh, and Lenovo rates the system for more than 13 hours in the JEITA-BAT 3.0 test at 200 nits. Real-world longevity will vary with workload, brightness, and the chosen display.
120 Hz OLED and haptic touchpad options
Display choices include IPS and OLED panels, topping out at a 2.8K 2 880 x 1 800 OLED option. Lenovo says that panel reaches up to 500 nits and supports a variable 30–120 Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and motion.
Buyers can also configure the ThinkPad with a haptic trackpad, a shift from the traditional mechanical click feel. The larger touchpad and full-sized arrow keys are designed to improve daily productivity in a compact footprint.
Pricing and US configurations
In the US, Lenovo lists a starting configuration at $2,139 with a Core Ultra 5 335 vPro, 32 GB of LPDDR5x-8533 memory, and a 256 GB SSD. Another configuration pairs a Core Ultra 7 355 with 16 GB of RAM at a lower listed price of $1,884.
Higher-end options include a Core Ultra 7 365 vPro configuration that allows up to 64 GB of RAM, with Lenovo citing speeds up to 9 600 MT/s. Final pricing can shift based on storage, display choice, and regional promotions.
