Garmin Connect adds shareable workout overlays worldwide, making social-ready stats easier on Fenix, Forerunner and more
Garmin is rolling out a new Garmin Connect feature globally that makes it easier to share workouts on social media with clean, customizable stat overlays. The update is aimed at users who post training summaries as Stories or Reels and want a more polished look.
The new tool lets people generate transparent overlays that can be placed on top of photos or videos, keeping performance details readable without covering the content.
Garmin says the overlays are designed to work smoothly with common vertical formats used by major social platforms.
Designed for modern social formats
Instead of focusing on traditional widescreen layouts, Garmin’s overlays support 9:16, 4:5 and 1:1 aspect ratios to match the way most fitness clips are shared today.
After exporting, users can resize the overlay inside their preferred social app to fit different posts.
Garmin Connect also allows the overlay to be saved for later reuse or copied to a clipboard for quick pasting into editing workflows. That small change could reduce the friction for athletes who share frequent updates across multiple channels.
What the overlays can show?
Each overlay can include key workout metrics such as average heart rate, distance and average pace, turning a standard post into a data-rich recap. Garmin also provides an option to show or hide the route map, depending on whether users want more context or more privacy.
The release follows a broader cadence of Garmin software updates across multiple watch families in recent months, including Fenix, Forerunner and Venu lines. By tying the feature to the Connect app, Garmin is positioning the sharing experience as device-agnostic for compatible users.
