Amazfit Balance 2 update sharpens BioCharge tracking with Life Log, workout alerts and a new self-check tool
Amazfit has started rolling out firmware version 3.46.0.1 for the Balance 2 smartwatch, expanding the company’s BioCharge energy metric with new logging, alert and self-check features.
The update follows a recent Balance 2 release that added a lactate threshold metric and more customization for Zepp Coach training plans.
The headline addition is BioCharge Life Log, a new section designed to help users note real-world factors that may influence their daily energy score. The log supports entries such as illness, travel, stress and alcohol consumption, aiming to add context to shifts in BioCharge readings.
New alerts and self-check features
Firmware 3.46.0.1 also introduces a BioCharge alert that can notify users when a preset threshold is reached during a workout. The goal is to make BioCharge more actionable mid-session, rather than something reviewed only after training.
Another new tool, described as a self-check or self-test feature, flags potential abnormalities by comparing current readings with historical patterns. Amazfit says the watch can surface these deviations as possible indicators of stress or illness, prompting users to pay closer attention to recovery and workload.
Algorithm changes and bug fixes
According to the published change log, Amazfit has adjusted the BioCharge algorithm to better cover a wider range of scenarios and improve accuracy. The update also lists fixes for music playback and tracking issues, including skipping and playlist-related problems.
Additional improvements target Zepp Coach workout reminder pages, alongside general stability updates. As with many wearable rollouts, the Balance 2 firmware is being distributed in phases, meaning some users may see it later than others in the Zepp app.
