Google One deal offers 50% off YouTube Premium for a year, but only for select $10+ subscribers
Google is rolling out a new promotion that cuts the price of YouTube Premium by 50% for 12 months, but only for eligible Google One subscribers on plans costing $10 per month or more. The offer also applies to plans that include Google AI Pro benefits.
The deal is designed to bundle Google One storage and AI features with YouTube Premium perks such as ad-free viewing, background play, and offline downloads. Google framed it as a response to user demand for tighter integration across its subscription services.
Google One does not typically include YouTube Premium outside of higher-end tiers, making this a notable discount rather than a permanent bundle change. The promotion is positioned as an add-on that users activate through Google One, not a standard YouTube sign-up path.
Where the offer is available
Google says the 50% discount is limited to users in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Germany, France, and Japan. The promotion runs through April 29, and eligibility can be checked through Google One in the Google app or on the offer page.
Current YouTube Premium subscribers may need to cancel their existing subscription first to avoid overlapping billing, then re-subscribe via the Google One offer flow. Google has published step-by-step guidance explaining how to switch without being charged twice.
Why the timing matters now
The promotion arrives shortly after another YouTube Premium price increase in several markets, including a higher monthly rate for the Individual plan in the US. For eligible users already paying for Google One, the discount can offset part of that recent rise for the next year.
Separately, YouTube is continuing to experiment with new creator tools in Shorts, including image posts and carousel-style uploads within the Shorts feed. The tests reflect YouTube’s broader push to keep creators and viewers engaged as it expands features alongside subscription changes.
