Vivo X Fold 6 and Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 leaks point to bigger batteries and new chips as launch window nears
Fresh leaks suggest Vivo and Xiaomi are preparing their next large-screen foldables, with the Vivo X Fold 6 and a new Xiaomi foldable expected to surface in the coming months. The reports arrive as competition in book-style foldables intensifies ahead of Samsung’s next Galaxy Z Fold cycle.
Tipster claims circulating on Chinese social platforms indicate Vivo’s next model could focus on endurance without sacrificing portability. One report points to a battery around 7 000 mAh, a figure that would be unusually large for a thin foldable if it materializes.
Vivo targets battery and cameras
Alongside the battery talk, the Vivo X Fold 6 is also rumored to feature a 200-megapixel main camera, signaling a push toward flagship-grade imaging on a folding form factor. The device is additionally rumored to use a next-generation Snapdragon 8 series chipset, though the exact chip name remains unconfirmed.
Timing is also part of the speculation, with observers noting that Vivo launched the prior-generation X Fold 5 in June 2025. If Vivo follows a similar cadence, a mid-year reveal would fit the company’s recent pattern.
Xiaomi’s foldable may debut in Q3
On Xiaomi’s side, leaks suggest the next foldable could ship with an updated in-house chipset referred to as Xring O3. Details on performance, manufacturing node, and how it compares with the earlier Xring O1 remain unclear.
Branding is still unsettled, with some reports calling it the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 while others suggest it could be marketed as the Xiaomi 17 Fold. A separate tip points to a Q3 launch, potentially landing in July if Xiaomi keeps its foldable release ahead of its typical September flagship cycle.
As with all pre-launch reports, specifications and dates may change before official announcements. Still, the combination of rumored bigger batteries, upgraded silicon, and flagship cameras hints at a new round of foldables aimed at narrowing the gap with traditional premium phones.
