TikTok rolls out Campus Hub: Verified college group chats and a new campus feed aim to keep students connected year-round
TikTok is launching Campus Hub, a new in-app space built around verified university communities, adding college-only group chats and a dedicated campus feed.
The company says the feature is designed to help students keep up with campus life, even when they are away for the summer.
Campus Hub expands on TikTok’s earlier campus verification, which lets users add their college to their profile and find other students from the same school. Verification is handled through TikTok’s partnership with UNiDAYS and is available across more than 6 000 universities.
How Campus Hub works?
After verifying student status, users get access to a campus hub tailored to their university. Students can create and join group chats limited to verified classmates, with a cap of up to 300 people per chat.
TikTok positions the chats as a place for staying in touch, planning meetups, and keeping conversations going between semesters. The setup also puts TikTok more directly in competition with tools students already use for school and clubs, including Discord and Instagram.
A campus feed with local context
Alongside chats, Campus Hub introduces a personalized campus feed that surfaces posts from verified students and content tied to a specific university. TikTok says the feed is meant to highlight campus trends, events, and updates in one place.
The move echoes earlier eras of social networking built around college identity, while reflecting today’s push to keep users engaged inside a single app. It also follows similar efforts from rivals, including Instagram’s own college-focused discovery and verification features.
