Citizen launches Eco-Drive Star Wars Duel 2.0 in the UK: the Cloud City design fans have been waiting for

Citizen has begun selling its Star Wars Duel 2.0 watch in the UK, bringing a new Eco-Drive model to fans of the franchise’s most iconic on-screen face-off. The 42 mm stainless-steel watch is listed at £249 and is available through Citizen’s official UK store.

The dial artwork references the Cloud City duel from The Empire Strikes Back, with Luke Skywalker’s silhouette near the 6 o’clock position and Darth Vader’s helmet at the top.

Red and blue hands echo the characters’ lightsabers, matched by small colored accents on the black leather strap.

Eco-Drive power, everyday durability

At the heart of the watch is Citizen’s J800 Eco-Drive movement, designed to charge from light and reduce the need for routine battery changes. Citizen markets Eco-Drive as a light-powered system that can run for extended periods once fully charged.

The case is rated to 100 meters of water resistance, positioning it for daily wear and water activities such as swimming. A brushed finish and a relatively classic layout aim to keep the Star Wars theme present without overwhelming the design.

Release timing and global availability

The case back adds a more overt collectible touch, featuring crossed lightsabers and the line It is your destiny. While the UK listing is live now, the model has also appeared in US retail listings, suggesting a broader rollout is planned.

Those US listings have pointed to a Father’s Day window, aligning with mid-June timing for wider availability beyond the UK. Pricing may vary by region, with earlier US sightings showing a higher dollar figure than the UK’s £249 listing.
