iPhone Ultra Launch in 2026 Back on Track as New Leaks Reveal Design and Specs

Rumors recently suggested that Apple’s long-awaited foldable iPhone — often referred to as the iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra — had been delayed.

However, later reports indicated that development remains on schedule, with the device expected to debut at Apple’s autumn 2026 event alongside the iPhone 18 lineup.

This timeline has now been reinforced by well-known tipster Ice Universe, who shared an unofficial image on X showing the rumored iPhone Ultra alongside Apple’s incoming CEO, John Ternus. The post was captioned simply: “2026 iPhone autumn new product launch.”

Although no exact date was mentioned, Apple’s fall events are typically held in September, most likely during the second or third week. If that pattern holds, the iPhone Ultra would mark the first major product reveal under John Ternus, who is set to officially take over as CEO on September 1, 2026.

Recent leaks have also provided a closer look at dummy units of the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the iPhone Ultra, highlighting size differences between the models. Additional images compared the unfolded iPhone Ultra with the iPhone 17 Pro Max and the iPad mini, offering a better sense of its form factor.

While earlier leaks didn’t confirm the device’s thickness, newly surfaced schematics suggest the iPhone Ultra could measure around 9.23mm when folded — slightly slimmer than the previously rumored 9.6mm. The same source claims that the maximum thickness, including the camera module, may reach approximately 13mm.

According to these reports, the foldable iPhone is expected to be available in two color options: black and silver.
