Xgimi X50 Ultra series debuts in China: 4K RGB laser projectors aim for higher contrast and 7,000-lumen brightness claim
Xgimi has launched two new home-theater projectors in China, the X50 Ultra and X50 Ultra Max, positioning them as premium 4K models built around an RGB laser light source.
The company is highlighting a high native contrast ratio and a brightness figure that could appeal to buyers building large-screen setups.
Both projectors output 3 840 x 2 160 resolution via DLP projection and are listed with a native contrast ratio of 10 000:1. Xgimi also advertises up to 7 000 CVIA lumens, a China-specific brightness measurement that does not directly translate to internationally common metrics like ISO lumens.
Specs focus on setup and streaming
The X50 Ultra series is listed with a 0.98–2.0:1 throw ratio and includes automatic keystone correction to speed up alignment in living rooms and dedicated media spaces. Xgimi says the units run its GMUI 6 operating system and support Apple AirPlay for wireless screen mirroring.
Connectivity includes Wi‑Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, alongside physical ports such as HDMI with eARC, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0. Audio is handled by built-in 12 W Harman Kardon speakers with Dolby and DTS support, aiming to reduce the need for an external sound system.
Pricing and global availability questions
In China, Xgimi lists the X50 Ultra at CNY 15 499 and the X50 Ultra Max at CNY 19 499, placing them firmly in the premium segment. The company has not confirmed pricing or launch timelines for other regions.
Xgimi already sells multiple projector lines outside China, so an international release remains possible, but key comparisons will depend on standardized brightness testing and regional software features. For now, the X50 Ultra series looks geared toward buyers prioritizing contrast, laser light output and modern wireless connectivity.
