TCL RM7L RGB Mini-LED lands in the UK: an entry-level 4K Google TV with 288 Hz gaming mode

TCL has begun selling its RM7L RGB Mini-LED TV in the UK, marking the first confirmed European availability for the company’s new entry-level RGB backlight model.

The set sits below TCL’s higher-tier 2026 Mini-LED ranges and is expected to expand to more European markets.

The RM7L is a 4K TV built around a 144 Hz native refresh rate, with TCL’s VRR Game Accelerator mode claiming an up to 288 Hz option for supported gameplay scenarios. TCL also markets the panel as HVA Pro, a technology designed to improve contrast and viewing angles compared with conventional LCD designs.

Sizes, dimming zones and HDR

TCL lists four screen sizes for the RM7L range: 65, 75, 85 and 98 inches. Depending on size, the TV is specified with 1 344 to 2 880 local dimming zones, aiming to deliver finer backlight control for HDR content.

For HDR, the RM7L supports Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+ and HLG, and TCL rates peak brightness at up to 2 000 nits. The company also claims 100% coverage of the BT.2020 color space, a headline figure that will be closely watched in independent measurements.

Google TV and console-ready ports

The RM7L runs Google TV, giving access to mainstream streaming apps and Google services, including the Gemini voice assistant in supported regions. Wireless casting is included via Miracast for compatible devices.

Gaming features include Game Master, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and four HDMI 2.1 ports for high-refresh console and PC connections. Audio is handled by a built-in 2.1-channel Onkyo system with DTS Virtual:X support, alongside a slim chassis designed to sit close to the wall.

UK pricing and wider rollout

In the UK, the 65-inch RM7L is listed at £1 299, the 75-inch at £1 699 and the 85-inch at £2 299 at launch retailers. The 98-inch model has been announced but was not yet broadly available at the time of listing.

TCL has not provided a precise schedule for other European countries, though the company’s EU product pages indicate broader regional availability is planned. If pricing holds outside the UK, the RM7L could become a notable midrange option for buyers seeking Mini-LED backlighting and Google TV without flagship pricing.
