Lenovo hints at a bigger Legion gaming tablet: a larger-screen follow-up to the Tab Gen 5 may be close
Lenovo has teased what appears to be a new Legion gaming tablet with a noticeably larger display than the recently launched Legion Tab Gen 5.
The first look surfaced via a post from Song Yuezhu, a Lenovo consumer marketing executive in China, showing the unannounced device alongside the 8.8-inch Tab Gen 5.
In the image, the unreleased tablet looks significantly taller and wider, signaling a potential shift from Lenovo’s compact gaming-tablet formula toward a more mainstream, large-screen format. Lenovo has not confirmed the screen size, specifications, or a product name.
Dual cameras and familiar styling
The teaser also suggests hardware changes beyond screen real estate. Unlike the Legion Tab Gen 5’s single rear camera, the larger model appears to include a dual-camera setup, while retaining the Legion aesthetic with rear RGB lighting.
Song’s post did not include launch timing beyond a hint that the tablet is coming soon in China. That leaves open key questions such as whether it will be positioned as a premium flagship tablet or a gaming-first device built around cooling and sustained performance.
How it could fit the market?
The tease comes as Chinese Android tablet makers push higher-end models with bigger displays, faster chips, and gaming-focused features.
A larger Legion tablet could be Lenovo’s answer to rivals such as Oppo and Honor, which have been expanding their premium tablet lineups.
Some observers speculate the device could debut in China under the Legion Y900 name, though Lenovo has not validated that branding. It is also unclear whether this model would be released internationally, as Lenovo sometimes reserves certain Legion tablets for specific regions.
With only a single image available so far, the next clues will likely come through regulatory filings, additional official teasers, or retailer listings. Until then, Lenovo’s message is clear: the Legion tablet line may be getting bigger, and soon.
