Audi Q4 E-Tron refresh pushes range to 368 miles: faster charging, V2H power and new Android-based tech

Audi has rolled out a major update for the Q4 E-Tron, its entry point to the brand’s electric lineup, with efficiency gains aimed at easing two common EV concerns: range and charging time.

The refreshed model keeps its Volkswagen Group MEB underpinnings but brings notable changes to powertrain, software and lighting tech.

The biggest headline is improved WLTP range on single-motor versions thanks to a more efficient electric drive unit. Audi says the Q4 E-Tron Sportback can now reach up to 592 km, while the equivalent SUV body style is rated up to 578 km on the WLTP test cycle.

Charging upgrades target shorter stops

Audi has also raised peak DC fast-charging capability on higher-output versions, with Performance trims now topping out at 185 kW. Other variants continue with peak rates around 160 to 165 kW, depending on configuration and battery choice.

On the 82 kWh battery pack, Audi quotes a 10 to 80% charge in about 27 minutes under ideal conditions. The company also cites roughly 180 km of added range from a 10-minute fast-charge session, a metric designed to highlight real-world stop-and-go usability.

Bidirectional power and new cabin tech

For the first time on the Q4 E-Tron, Audi is adding bidirectional charging functions that support vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-home operation in compatible setups. The car can supply up to 2.3 kW through a household-style socket, enabling basic appliance or equipment use from the vehicle.

Inside, Audi is leaning harder into software, introducing its latest infotainment platform based on Android Automotive OS. An AI voice assistant with ChatGPT integration is offered, alongside available augmented-reality head-up display functionality for navigation and driver-assistance prompts.

The cabin also gains a new curved-screen layout, with 11.9-inch and 12.8-inch displays and an optional 12-inch passenger screen. Audi has also swapped the previous squared steering wheel for a more conventional round design.

Lighting and safety features broaden

Exterior updates include revised LED headlamps with selectable daytime running light signatures and styling tweaks around the grille and bumpers. At the rear, Audi is fitting second-generation digital OLED taillights with multiple light patterns to mirror the front’s customizable theme.

Audi says more driver-assistance features are now standard, including adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and automated emergency braking functions. In Germany, pricing starts at €47 500 for the Q4 E-Tron with a 63 kWh battery, with the larger 82 kWh pack priced €6 000 higher.
