Microsoft Surface Pro 12 leak hints at Intel Panther Lake upgrade, with 24 GB and 32 GB RAM options showing up early
Microsoft’s next-generation Surface Pro 12 appears to be nearing launch after a cluster of Geekbench entries surfaced for what look like pre-release devices.
The listings point to Intel’s upcoming Panther Lake platform and multiple memory configurations, suggesting a meaningful refresh for the business-focused 2-in-1 lineup.
The benchmark database references model identifiers that have been linked by leakers to Surface Pro 12 hardware intended to succeed the current Surface Pro for Business.
While benchmark listings do not confirm a product name, the consistency across numerous entries indicates ongoing validation testing rather than a one-off anomaly.
Panther Lake chips appear in tests
Geekbench results mention Intel Core Ultra 5 325 and Core Ultra 5 335 processors, both described as 8-core Panther Lake parts. The two variants appear closely related, with the higher-tier chip separated mainly by a modest boost-clock increase in the benchmark details.
The same entries also indicate 24 GB and 32 GB RAM configurations, an unusual step that could give buyers an option between standard and higher-capacity setups without jumping straight to top-tier pricing. A 16 GB base model is still widely expected, even if it has not shown up in the surfaced results.
5G and higher-tier options hinted
Separate retail and leak reports have suggested Microsoft may offer Surface Pro 12 configurations with optional 5G connectivity at launch, continuing a broader push toward always-connected PCs. Additional leaks have also pointed to higher-end Core Ultra 7 options, although the exact SKU remains unclear.
Microsoft has not officially teased new Surface hardware on this timeline, and benchmark results can change as firmware and drivers mature. Still, the breadth of the listings adds weight to expectations that a Surface Pro 12 announcement is approaching, with Panther Lake positioned as the headline upgrade.
