Xiaomi has introduced a new Redmi Pad 2 Pro Learning Edition in China, positioning it as a student-focused tablet with built-in learning tools and child-friendly accessories. The launch expands the Redmi Pad 2 Pro lineup after earlier China-only special editions.

The Learning Edition keeps the same core hardware as the standard Redmi Pad 2 Pro, including a 12.1-inch display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 2.5K-class resolution. Xiaomi says the screen uses matte glass to cut reflections and help reduce eye strain during long study sessions.

What Xiaomi adds for studying?

The main additions are software features aimed at tutoring and assessment, alongside a colorful rugged case and a smart stylus in the box. The case includes a latch, a stylus slot, and a folding cover that doubles as a kickstand for desk use.

Xiaomi’s headline feature is an AI teacher designed to mimic one-on-one instruction with real-time Q&A while a lesson is in progress. The company also promotes an AI homework grading tool that can evaluate assignments with a single tap and return feedback meant to highlight weak areas.

Specs stay the same as standard

On the inside, the tablet is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 and ships in an 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage configuration. It also includes a 12 000 mAh battery with 33 W wired charging and 27 W reverse wired charging.

Xiaomi says buyers get a three-year subscription to its Xiaomi Education Center, which it markets as a hub for digital learning materials, lesson content and study plans. The company claims the service includes broad textbook coverage and more than 150 000 lessons, though availability can vary by region and curriculum.

Pricing and release plans

In China, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro Learning Edition is priced at CNY 2 699, a notable premium over the standard model with the same memory configuration at CNY 1 799. Xiaomi has not announced international availability.

Still, Xiaomi has previously sold kid-oriented Redmi Pad bundles outside China, including in parts of Europe, suggesting a wider release is possible. For now, the Learning Edition remains a China-exclusive model aimed at parents and students looking for an all-in-one study tablet.
