Porsche unveils 2026 Cayenne Coupé Electric in Beijing: longer range, faster charging, supercar-level performance
Porsche used Auto China in Beijing to introduce the 2026 Cayenne Coupé Electric, a new battery-powered flagship positioned as the sportier alternative to the forthcoming Cayenne Electric SUV.
The model leans into a lower, more coupe-like roofline to blend SUV practicality with a design closer to Porsche’s sports cars.
The company is pitching the Coupé’s shape as more than styling, arguing it improves efficiency and high-speed stability. Porsche says the Cayenne Coupé Electric achieves a drag coefficient of 0.23, lower than the standard body style, helping extend driving range.
Range and aerodynamics take center stage
Depending on version and equipment, Porsche claims up to 669 km of range, with the Coupé body delivering a modest advantage over the regular Cayenne Electric.
The vehicle remains large, measuring about 4 985 mm long and 1 980 mm wide, while sitting roughly 24 mm lower than the standard SUV.
Adaptive aero features include a reworked windshield and an active rear spoiler designed to balance efficiency with downforce. The lower stance and refined airflow are aimed at improving both highway consumption and overall refinement.
Three outputs, from quick to extreme
Porsche says the entry Cayenne Coupé Electric delivers 300 kW, rising to 325 kW with Launch Control, enabling a 0–100 km/h time of 4.8 seconds and a 230 km/h top speed.
The Cayenne S Coupé Electric steps up to 400 kW, with an overboost peak of 490 kW, cutting the 0–100 km/h run to 3.8 seconds and lifting top speed to 250 km/h.
At the top of the range, the Cayenne Turbo Coupé Electric is rated at 630 kW, with a boost figure of up to 850 kW, which Porsche says is equivalent to 1 156 hp. That version is claimed to hit 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and reach 260 km/h.
800-volt charging and a screen-heavy cabin
An 800-volt electrical architecture underpins charging performance, with Porsche quoting up to 400 kW peak DC fast-charging capability where compatible infrastructure is available.
For AC charging, the vehicle comes with an 11 kW onboard charger, with a 22 kW option offered for faster home and destination charging.
Inside, the Cayenne Coupé Electric follows Porsche’s recent move toward a multi-display cockpit, including a digital driver cluster, an available head-up display and a dedicated passenger screen.
Porsche says owners can arrange on-screen widgets and shortcuts to tailor navigation, media and vehicle functions.
Practical details remain a selling point
Despite its sportier roofline, Porsche is emphasizing everyday usability, citing 534 to 1 347 liters of rear cargo space depending on seating configuration. A 90-liter front trunk adds additional storage, and towing capacity is rated up to 3 500 kg.
Air suspension is standard, and Porsche is offering a Lightweight Sport package with a carbon-fiber roof and 22-inch wheels, trimming 17.6 kg. The option also introduces Pepita cloth seats, tying the EV SUV’s cabin to classic Porsche design cues.
