Oppo appears to be preparing a smaller companion to its next flagship smartwatch, with fresh leaks pointing to an Oppo Watch X3 Mini arriving soon after the standard Watch X3. The main model is scheduled for an official China launch on March 17, setting the stage for a potential follow-up release.

A Weibo tipster has suggested the Watch X3 Mini could debut as early as April, echoing Oppo’s recent Mini strategy in its wearable lineup. If accurate, the timing would mirror past rollouts where Oppo introduced a compact alternative shortly after the headline model.

What a Mini model could mean?

Oppo has already shown there is demand for a smaller, fully featured smartwatch, particularly with last year’s Watch X2 Mini. That device aimed to deliver premium materials and robust health tracking in a reduced case size, without stripping away core features.

Based on that pattern, the Watch X3 Mini is expected to prioritize comfort and fit for smaller wrists while keeping flagship-level tools. A compact option can also broaden appeal in markets where larger watch cases have become the norm.

Expected hardware and battery approach

One of the most likely carryovers is Oppo’s dual-chip setup, which typically pairs a main processor for heavier tasks with a low-power chip for background activity. This design is intended to balance responsive performance with battery efficiency, especially when advanced smartwatch platforms are involved.

With Oppo teasing premium build choices for the Watch X3 line, a Mini version could also adopt similar upscale materials, potentially including a titanium-style unibody look. However, details such as display size, sensors, and exact software remain unconfirmed ahead of the March 17 launch.

What to watch for next week?

Because Oppo has not officially acknowledged a Watch X3 Mini, the March 17 event will be the clearest indicator of what the broader lineup may look like. Any mentions of multiple sizes, accessories, or battery targets could hint at a compact model in the pipeline.

Until then, the April window remains a rumor, but it aligns with Oppo’s established playbook of offering a smaller sibling to a flagship watch. More clarity is expected once the Watch X3 is fully revealed and early retail materials begin to surface.
