Morefine G2 eGPU pairs RTX 5060 Ti 16GB with Thunderbolt 5 and OCuLink, aiming to narrow the laptop-to-desktop gap

Morefine has introduced the G2, a compact external GPU designed to bring desktop-class graphics to laptops and mini PCs through Thunderbolt 5 or OCuLink.

The unit is built around an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Ti with 16 GB of GDDR7 memory, targeting gaming and creator workloads that can overwhelm integrated graphics.

The key pitch is connectivity choice: Thunderbolt 5 for broad compatibility, and OCuLink 4.0 x4 for users who want higher bandwidth with fewer bottlenecks. In practice, OCuLink setups often deliver closer-to-desktop performance than Thunderbolt-based eGPU links, depending on the host system and workload.

Ports and power in a small box

Morefine says the G2 includes an upstream Thunderbolt 5 connection with up to 100 W USB Power Delivery, allowing the enclosure to charge a connected laptop while it handles graphics output.

A second Thunderbolt 5 downstream port is also included, alongside dedicated display outputs.

According to the published specifications, the enclosure provides HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4, plus three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports for peripherals.

Morefine also claims 4K output support up to 144 Hz through the downstream Thunderbolt 5 path, though real-world results will depend on the display chain and system support.

Design, cooling, and availability

The G2 is positioned as a travel-friendly eGPU, with a stated chassis size of 140 x 100 x 54 mm and a weight of about 700 grams. To keep the enclosure small, it relies on an external power supply rather than integrating the PSU into the housing.

Cooling is handled by an internal fan with three selectable modes intended to balance noise and performance. Morefine has not published benchmark figures, so buyers will likely look for independent testing to judge how the RTX 5060 Ti performs over Thunderbolt 5 versus OCuLink.

Pricing is set at $1,099 during the pre-order window, and the company says early orders are expected to start shipping on May 20, 2026.

The launch arrives as Thunderbolt 5 and USB4 v2 systems begin to roll out more broadly, expanding the potential audience for high-bandwidth eGPU setups.
