vivo X500 Pro Max leak hints at a new camera push: 200MP periscope and LOFIC main sensor

vivo is said to be preparing its next flagship X-series lineup, with early leaks pointing to a vivo X500 family arriving later this year.

The latest reports suggest the company may add a Pro Max model, potentially expanding the range beyond the current X300 generation.

According to tipsters posting on Weibo, the X500 series could span multiple screen sizes, including roughly 6.4-inch and 6.9-inch options. That lines up with an earlier leak describing 6.37-inch and 6.83-inch LTPO OLED panels, indicating vivo may offer both compact and large-format flagships.

Pro Max tipped for flagship cameras

The rumored vivo X500 Pro Max is expected to focus heavily on photography, led by a 50MP main camera using a LOFIC sensor. LOFIC, short for lateral overflow integration capacitor, is a sensor technology often associated with improved handling of bright highlights and high-contrast scenes.

Alongside the main camera, the Pro Max is tipped to include a 200MP periscope telephoto module. If accurate, that would position vivo to compete more directly in the long-zoom race that has become a key selling point in premium Android phones.

The leak also mentions a multispectral sensor, a component sometimes used to improve color accuracy and white balance by reading a wider range of light information. vivo has previously leaned on imaging partnerships and specialized hardware in its top-tier devices, so the addition would fit its broader camera strategy.

More models may be in the mix

Beyond the two main display sizes, another report suggests vivo could introduce an additional X500 variant with a 6.59-inch screen.

With several sizes floated across multiple leaks, the final lineup may vary by region, pricing tier, or camera configuration.

None of these specifications have been confirmed by vivo, and launch timing remains unannounced. Still, the consistency around LTPO OLED panels and the emphasis on a high-resolution periscope camera suggest vivo is aiming for a more segmented, camera-first flagship lineup.
