Anker Solix Solarbank update adds backup reserve and finer charge controls, with more features still rolling out
Anker has started rolling out version 3.19.0 of its Anker app, bringing new controls aimed at users of Anker Solix Solarbanks, balcony solar setups and related accessories.
The update is available on iOS and Android, and it focuses on battery management features owners have been asking for.
The changes arrive as Anker Solix expands its home energy lineup, including newer storage products and smart metering hardware. While some upcoming devices are expected to gain support later, Anker is using the app update to prepare the platform for broader functionality.
Backup reserve begins to arrive
One of the headline additions is a backup reserve setting, designed to let users keep a defined portion of battery capacity in reserve for emergencies such as power outages.
According to the release notes, this feature is initially tied to the Solarbank 3 E2700 Pro, suggesting other models may follow after validation.
Early user reports indicate the backup reserve option may not appear for everyone immediately, which can happen when features are enabled gradually or require matching device firmware. In practice, app updates and hardware firmware often need to align before new controls show up in settings.
More granular SOC control
Anker also references refined state-of-charge charge and discharge controls across Solarbanks and the Power Dock. This includes the ability to set a custom lower discharge limit instead of being restricted to fixed thresholds such as 5% or 10%.
The update also points to a new upper SOC charging limit, a useful tool for users who want to reduce battery wear by avoiding full charges during daily cycling. As with backup reserve, availability may depend on model support and firmware status.
Power Dock scheduling and gradual rollout
For Power Dock owners, Anker notes scheduled feed-in control, which is intended to allow exporting power only during chosen time windows. That could help users align output with household routines, tariff windows, or local grid rules in markets where timing matters.
Anker has not published a detailed device-by-device availability chart for each function, and some features appear to be activating in stages. In the near term, users may need to update both the app and their Solarbank firmware to see the full set of tools.
