Hades 2 patch notes preview: Supergiant tees up 40-plus fixes to smooth Dream Dives and more
Supergiant Games has published an early look at the patch notes for Hades 2 Post-Launch Patch 2 Hotfix 2, a PC-first update the studio describes as a wide batch of minor fixes and adjustments. Despite the hotfix label, it includes more than 40 changes across balance, bugs, UI, and stability.
The update targets Dream Dives in particular, where Supergiant is tweaking how runs roll out in the early regions. Shops will be more likely to offer Boons in Tartarus or the Summit when either appears first or second, and encounter rewards in those regions will yield slightly more Gold.
Dream Dives difficulty gets tuned
Several boss fights in Dream Dives are being softened at the margins, with Chronos and Unrivaled Chronos receiving a small reduction to total Life. The Unrivaled Scylla encounter is also affected, with Charybdis tentacles adjusted to have less Life.
Beyond Dream Dives, Hotfix 2 focuses on correcting interaction bugs that can derail specific builds. Fixes include Braid of Atlas not boosting many Olympian Cast effects as expected and Proper Upbringing continuing to apply after falling below its element requirement.
Build interactions and UI cleanup
Supergiant is also patching mid-run edge cases, such as Anvil Ring being interrupted by Death Defiance and Success Rate appearing in situations where it should not.
Additional corrections address weapon upgrades and Daedalus Hammer behavior, with multiple interactions tuned to match intended effects.
Presentation and narrative timing are part of the pass as well, including adjustments to conversation triggers, rare portrait mismatches, and voice lines that can play out of context in some randomized Dream Dives encounters.
On the technical side, the hotfix includes image scaling and input fixes, plus stability work aimed at rare crash scenarios.
Rollout plans across platforms
Supergiant has said the hotfix is planned to arrive on PC first, then roll out to console versions, including PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. The game is also available on Nintendo Switch 2, and similar post-launch updates typically follow after the PC build is live.
While Hades 2 is now in its post-1.0 phase, the studio has continued to ship targeted patches to improve balance and resolve lingering bugs. For players, the unusually hefty scope of this hotfix suggests Supergiant is still refining the game’s most replayed systems, even as major content drops appear unlikely.
