Oppo Pad 5 lands in Europe: A 120 Hz tablet launch with unexpected global downgrades
Oppo has begun selling the Oppo Pad 5 in parts of Europe, bringing its latest upper-tier Android tablet to the Eurozone in Wi‑Fi and optional 5G variants. The release quietly expands Oppo’s international tablet lineup after the device debuted in China in October.
In Germany, the Wi‑Fi model is listed at €459, while Spain shows a lower €399 price for the same configuration. A 5G version is also offered in Germany for €529, positioning the Pad 5 against similarly sized premium Android tablets.
One of the most notable changes is the display specification for the global model. Oppo’s European product pages describe a 12.1-inch IPS panel with a 2 800 x 1 980 resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate, while the China version was promoted with sharper specs and a faster 144 Hz mode.
Battery and charging take a hit
Battery and charging have also been scaled back outside China. The global model is listed with a 10 050 mAh battery and up to 33 W charging, compared with a 10 420 mAh battery and faster 67 W charging previously advertised for the Chinese release.
Oppo is also limiting memory and storage options for Europe at launch. The tablet is currently offered with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, with no higher-tier configuration shown for these markets.
What stays the same for buyers?
Despite the changes, Oppo is keeping several headline features intact, including the large-screen format and a high-refresh experience at 120 Hz. Oppo also continues to promote pen support, which targets note-taking and creative use cases.
The European listings show the tablet in a single color option, Starlight Black, suggesting a simplified launch strategy. Oppo has not provided broad regional availability details beyond the markets where the device is already on sale.
