Garmin adds Pokémon Sleep syncing and dynamic watch faces, making it easier to track Snorlax-ready nights
Garmin has expanded its Pokémon partnership with new support for Pokémon Sleep, allowing sleep data from Garmin watches to sync into the game. The update arrives around World Sleep Day, tapping into renewed attention on sleep tracking and recovery.
Until now, Pokémon Sleep primarily relied on a phone placed on the bed, or smartwatch-based tracking on limited platforms. Garmin support broadens the pool of compatible devices, especially for users who prefer dedicated fitness watches for overnight wear.
How the Pokémon Sleep sync works
Players can link their Garmin account so sleep metrics recorded on a compatible watch can be used inside Pokémon Sleep. That means progress such as Drowsy Power can be calculated without the workaround of leaving a phone under a pillow.
The Pokémon Sleep team has published a compatibility list that includes a wide range of recent Garmin models. Users with older devices may need to verify support, as features can vary by watch generation and sensor set.
Watch faces that react to recovery
Alongside syncing, Garmin has released two free Pokémon-themed watch faces in the Connect IQ store. The faces are dynamic, changing as the wearer’s daily status shifts rather than staying static artwork.
A key driver is Garmin’s Body Battery metric, which estimates energy reserves using factors like activity, stress, and sleep. As Body Battery rises or falls, the Pokémon on the watch face becomes more energetic or visibly tired.
The faces also include a night mode that activates ahead of a scheduled bedtime to reduce distraction. For Garmin and Pokémon, it is a neat way to link a popular game with broader wellness features users already check daily.
