Honor teases OLED MagicPad 3 Pro refresh: A 12.3-inch tablet that could undercut the iPad Pro on thinness

Honor has teased a new version of its MagicPad 3 Pro tablet, hinting at a shift from the current 13.3-inch IPS model to a 12.3-inch OLED variant.

The teaser, shared on Weibo, suggests the company is targeting premium buyers drawn to ultra-thin designs like Apple’s iPad Pro.

The existing MagicPad 3 Pro debuted with a 3 200 x 2 136 display and a 165 Hz refresh rate, paired with a flagship-class Snapdragon platform.

Honor positioned it as a high-performance tablet with slim bezels and a chassis designed to compete in the same space as top-tier iPads.

Thinner body, OLED panel focus

According to the teaser details, the 12.3-inch OLED MagicPad 3 Pro is rated at about 4.82 mm thick, down from roughly 5.73 mm for the 13.3-inch version.

If the figure holds for the retail unit, it would put the tablet among the thinnest mainstream slates and directly invite comparisons with Apple’s latest iPad Pro designs.

Honor also highlighted 5 820 Hz PWM dimming, a specification often used to reduce visible flicker at low brightness on OLED screens. That detail signals the company expects close scrutiny from users who are sensitive to OLED dimming behavior.

Weight and what remains unknown

The Weibo teaser claims a weight of about 440 g, suggesting portability is a central part of the pitch alongside the thinner chassis. Images indicate a similar styling approach to the current model, including a dual-camera layout and narrow front bezels.

Honor has not confirmed pricing, chip choice, battery capacity, or a launch date for the OLED model. Availability outside China is also unclear, but the teaser campaign indicates an official announcement may be imminent.
