Vivo T4R 5G Debuts in India with Curved Display, Sony Camera, and Flagship Features Under ₹18,000

Vivo has officially rolled out the T4R 5G in India, a smartphone that lands in the midrange category but brings plenty of features typically seen in higher-end models. Built on the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 platform, it boasts a 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera, a quad-curved AMOLED display, and IP68/IP69 durability ratings—all at a starting price under ₹18,000.

At first glance, the T4R closely mirrors the iQOO Z10R, a phone that launched just weeks earlier. Both share core internals and visual aesthetics, but the T4R makes a few subtle tweaks that may appeal to a slightly different audience. One of those tweaks is in the charging speed—the T4R supports 44W fast charging, while the iQOO Z10R tops out at 90W. There are also different color schemes: Arctic White and Twilight Blue for the T4R, compared to Aquamarine and Moonstone on the iQOO.

The screen is one of the biggest talking points. Vivo says the T4R is the slimmest smartphone to feature a quad-curved display, packing a 6.77-inch full-HD+ AMOLED panel with a buttery-smooth 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1,800 nits. You also get HDR10+ support and low blue light certification to reduce eye strain.

On the performance front, it comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, running Android 15 out of the box layered with FuntouchOS 15. The camera setup on the back includes a 50MP main sensor and a basic 2MP bokeh lens. A 32MP front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls, and both front and rear cameras can shoot in 4K.

Durability is another area where Vivo stands out. With IP68 and IP69 ratings, the T4R is built to withstand both dust and water—something you rarely see at this price point. The phone also houses a large 5,700mAh battery to keep it running through long days.

Set to go on sale from August 5 via Flipkart, Vivo’s official store, and select retailers, the T4R starts at ₹17,499 for the 8GB/128GB version, ₹19,499 for 8GB/256GB, and ₹21,499 for the maxed-out 12GB/256GB model. For those wanting a balance of design, durability, and dependable performance without paying flagship prices, the T4R could be one of the year’s standout releases.
