Redmi Headphones Neo leak hints at Xiaomi’s first budget over-ear ANC play with 72-hour battery claim
Xiaomi appears close to entering the over-ear headphone market under its Redmi brand, with fresh retail listings and images pointing to a product called Redmi Headphones Neo.
The company has long focused on true wireless earbuds, making this a notable shift in its audio lineup.
The Redmi Headphones Neo is described as an affordable wireless over-ear model with active noise cancellation, according to early product pages spotted on major e-commerce platforms. While Xiaomi has not confirmed the device publicly, the consistency of the details suggests an imminent release.
Key specs surfaced in listings
Listings claim the headphones use 40 mm titanium-coated drivers and support a 20 Hz to 40 kHz frequency response. They are also said to offer up to 42 dB of ANC and Bluetooth 5.4 for connectivity.
Battery life is one of the headline figures: up to 72 hours with ANC turned off, based on the same retail information. As with all pre-launch claims, real-world endurance will depend on volume, codec use, and ANC settings.
Pricing and launch window still unclear
Early pricing signals vary by seller and market, underscoring that final MSRP is not yet established. A Lazada listing in the Philippines shows a price of PHP 3 299 (about $55), while a separate Alibaba listing shows a much lower figure tied to bulk purchasing.
Color options referenced so far include Obsidian Black and Sand White, with a Mist Blue variant suggested for later availability. Several listings point to September 2026 for the additional color, implying the initial launch could come sooner.
If the Redmi Headphones Neo ships at the prices being suggested, it would position Xiaomi against entry-level ANC headphones rather than premium flagships. The key question now is whether Xiaomi can match its aggressive pricing with reliable ANC performance, comfort, and tuning.
